SUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM LAVELY & SINGER recruits qualified second-year law students for our summer
associate program. The firm recruits primarily from the UCLA School of
Law and the USC Law School, however, we are interested in receiving resumes
from highly qualified second-year students from around the state and/or
nation who feel that they will thrive in our fast paced work environment. Lavely & Singer is a small firm that hires new attorneys based on the needs of the practice, which cannot always be predicted a year in advance. Thus, summer associates are not guaranteed that all, or any, of them will receive an offer of full-time employment for the year following graduation. That being said, summer associates are given first consideration when hiring first-year associates and, during the past several years, Lavely & Singer has extended offers of full-time, post-graduation employment to many of its summer associates. THE CANDIDATE We are looking for law students who can become top-flight litigators and, ultimately, trial attorneys. The ability to write and speak clearly, concisely and persuasively is the top hiring criterion. A demonstrated interest in litigation is strongly preferred. Prior employment in the entertainment industry, while a plus, is not essential. In our experience, litigation skills do not necessarily correlate with law school grades. Although we prefer students in the top third of their class, Lavely & Singer has no artificial cutoff based on grades or class rank. Students who feel that they will thrive in our intensive culture are invited to interview. If you do not attend the UCLA School of Law or the USC Law School and/or do attend one of those schools but cannot secure an on-campus interview, please mail a resume, cover letter and short writing sample to:
